Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted at Breaking The Spine that spotlights those can't-wait-to-get-my-hands-on-them books that we are eagerly awaiting!
This week I'm dying to get my hands into yet another final book this year! Earth Flight by Janet Edwards!
Goodreads Summary:
"It's time to risk it all!
The thrilling conclusion to Janet Edward’s sensational debut YA sci-fi trilogy.
Jarra never wanted to be a celebrity. All she ever wanted was to gain some respect for the people left on Earth: the unlucky few whose immune system prevents them from portalling to other planets.
Except now she’s the most famous Earth girl in the universe – but not everyone in the universe is happy about it, nor the fact that she has found love with a norm. Jarra’s actions have repercussions that spread further than she ever could have imagined, and political unrest threatens to tear apart the delicate balance of peace between humanity’s worlds.
On top of everything, the first alien artefact ever discovered appears to be waiting for Jarra to reveal its secrets. But to do so, she must somehow find a way to leave Earth – or else the alien artefact will be lost forever. Is there a way for Jarra to travel to another planet? Or is her destiny only to look to the stars – but never to reach them?"
Why am I eagerly awaiting Earth Flight? Well, I read and loved the first two books, some amazing science fiction with plenty of food for thought and a lot of fun included, and after the revelation at the very end of the book, I just cannot wait to see what will happen in this final book!
What are you all (im)patiently waiting this week?
I am yet to read the rest of this series but I like how it has aliens and stuff in it :) Great pick Pili, can't wait to see what you think of it when it comes out.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeann! It's space-y science fiction and I love it! =D
DeleteThe author sounds really familiar and I am pretty sure I've heard of this series but for the life of me I cannot really remember. I guess it's just that there are too many books inside my brain now :P
ReplyDeleteI hope the conclusion will be just as great as you hope for it to be and that you won't be let down! :)
Happy reading, Pili!!
Rashika @ The Social Potato
Thank you Rashika! I do hope this final book will be up to the challenge!
DeleteI cannot wait to read it finally, so many final books this year for series I've been reading!
Ah! This series isn't familiar to me Pili, I need to run and check out the first two books! Have you reviewed them and I just don't remember? That's a strong possibility, my memory is not exactly a steel trap:) I hope this last installment is everything you want it to be!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I hope so too! I'm so very excited to see what will have now!
DeleteI think book 1 and 2 have come out in the US only more recently!
I haven't read this series or looked that much into them (I'm not a big fan of sci-fi), but I love those covers!
ReplyDeleteThe covers are indeed gorgeous!
DeleteI've never even heard of the first two books! At least I don't think I have. I'll have to investigate a bot after such a glowing recommendation. Good sci-fi is hard to find, at least for me. I'm very picky.
ReplyDeleteThe premise for these is very unique even if there's a lot of science fiction more usual themes! Can't wait to hear what you'd think of them if you check them out, Maja!
DeleteAhhh, the end of it all! I know how much you want to read this book :D I hope you love it when you get your hands on this conclusion novel, Pili! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog!
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
Thanks, Alyssa! I cannot wait to see how everything plays out!!
DeleteI'm not a big science fiction reader, but I hope you get your grabby hands on a copy of EARTH FLIGHT sooner rather than later! This is a HUGE release week, so I'm just trying to stay afloat, nevermind add even more books to my shelves. Hehe Happy Hump Day!
ReplyDeleteCarmel @ Rabid Reads
Yeah, I'm quite overwhelmed at the amount of new books that arrived on my Kindle!!
DeleteI am ashamed to say that I still haven't started this series... I do finally own the first book though! I'll definitely have to push it up my TBR if you loved it!
ReplyDeleteGreat pick :)
I do hope you'll enjoy Earth Girl and the other books, Samantha! =D
DeleteI think I remember Faye enjoying book 1 and being disappointed with book 2... :( Hopefully I'll have more luck with this series, since I love the sound of it! Great pick, Pili. :)
ReplyDeleteNot read this series, but looks great :D I hope you will love this third book sweetie. <3 Great pick :)
ReplyDeleteThank you sweetie, I'm so excited!
DeleteGAH. First--awesome pick. Second . . . I haven't started this series yet. Even though I've heard nothing but good things, and even though I have the first two books. Thanks for keeping me motivated, Pili!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you just need to get the third one next week and then binge read the trilogy, Jessica! ;)
