Traveling Thursday: Cuenca, Spain!

Hello, hello, hello, hello, hello and welcome to Traveling Thursday!

I think I've just channeled Stephen Fry intro to QI... If only I could channel also some of his brain power! My brain has been completely scattered this week! So busy at work, and thinking of leaving this Sunday and also not sleeping too well is leaving my brain in a state of wonkiness... I think I'll go get a nice latte or something from my Dolce Gusto and continue to work on the entry in a wee bit, to help with the mental fog!

Aaaand back, sipping on a vanilla latte. Hopefully I'll kick the laziness enough to work a bit on rearranging the packing, take some shots for future blog entries, maybe even schedule a pair of them for next week, and bake some cupcakes to take to my bro's for my nephews!

Getting back on track, today I'm gonna share with you all Cuenca, the capital city of a Spanish province of the same name, nearby Madrid. It's a small city, mediaeval and smack right in the middle (or confluence) of two rivers, the Jucar and the Huecar. It's built on a hill and you can see the canyons carved by both rivers. Absolutely stunning views! I've been there a few times, cause is the hometown of Alberto and Emilio, two friends of mine, and in Emilio's case, he's also the bf of one of my best friends!

Cuenca's cathedral, it's almost like a twin of Notre Dame de Paris!

One of the most famous sights fo Cuenca "las casas colgadas" translated roughly as "the hanging houses" built right at the border of the cliff.

View of the hanging houses from the middle of the bridge

A view of all the city!

Another view of the top of the hill

Another view of the hills opposite the city

My friend Irene, Alberto, David and myself

Here you can see the "hanging houses" and the bridge

And another view of the cliff and the "hanging houses"

Traveling Thursday: Neemrana, Rajasthan!

Hey everyone!

Since I didn't manage to get some pics for WHW this week, I'm gonna do another edition of Traveling Thursday, and since I already shared photos of Jaipur, I thought of sharing with you the photos of our first weekend trip to Rajasthan, to the gorgeous resort of Neemrana!

Neemrana is a 15th century palace converted into a fantastic resort, with wonderful artwork everywhere, lovely surroundings, and typical Rajasthani food!

The balcony of our room, such gorgeous views

Amazing views of one side of the palace

You could see the main entry doors from our balcony!

There were plenty of gardens to take a break and have your food

Gaurav & me ready to enjoy dinner!

Neemrana was really a photographer'd dream! Always something worth clicking at every turn!

Traveling Thursday: Amber Fort, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India!

Hi everyone!

Getting back into the groove of blogging, so today I'm bringing a new Travelling Thursday post! Today I want to share with you a few shots of a weekend trip we took to Jaipur in Rajasthan during my latest visit to India. We didn't see much of Jaipur since it was too crowded and too rushed due to being the pre-Diwali weekend, but we visited and loved the Amber Fort!

Whenever I go, I always wear some Handmade! Vivifromage top and Piper & Paisley hat!

Many views from many entries to the Fort!

The Glass Palace, and amazing area for privileged guests!

The Tiger Fort, it does have tigers in it & watches over the Amber Fort.

Towers around the Fort's outer walls, where messages were passed with fire!

Traveling Thursday: Zurich!

Hello everyone! For this week's Traveling Thursday, I'm sharing photos of my most recent trip, this past weekend to Zurich, Switzerland!

G's family were there on vacation, so I decided to join them to spend some time with his elder sister and her family that I hadn't seen in almost two years, since they live in the US.

On Saturday we went to see the Rhine Falls, the biggest waterfalls in Europe, and the walk from the train station to the falls themselves was also gorgeous!

On Friday we went to Conny Land, a small amusement park, with a very cool rollercoaster, called the Cobra! And we saw the dolphin training session too!

And I didn't get to see too much of Zurich itself, except on our ways from the Central train station to our hotel, but since that's smack in the centre of Zurich, that was a nice view!

Packing for a weekend means only hand luggage, and my Weekender Dolly bag was perfect for it!

Switzerland looks like a lovely country that I'd love to visit again, but I should try and learn some German for my next trip, it'd make things easier!
