Top 10 of 2015: Best Books I've Read on 2015!!

This year I'm very happy to once again join in the Top 10 of 2015 week hosted by Rachel from Reading YA Rocks, Jamie from Two Chicks On Books, Mindy from Magical Urban Fantasy Reads and Nancy of Tales of A Ravenous Reader.

We're gonna start the week right, with our Top 10 Best Books we've read this year. They don't have to have been published this year, but they must have been read this year.

Since there have been so many books and choosing just 10 is gonna be tough, I decided to list here only those that weren't debuts, and then on Wednesday I'll share my Top 10 Debuts of 2015, so I'll have another 10 awesome books that I loved this year. Not only that, I'm only choosing those that were published on 2015 that I've read on 2015! And it will still be a struggle...

Best Books I've Read on 2015

For this top 10 I've decided to stick only to YA books and at the end I'll be adding some honorable mentions of adult books I've loved! All the books in this list were 5 stars for me! (yes, I have indeed cheated, it is a top 15, but I couldn't take any of these from the list!).

And now for some honorary mentions that do deserve as much praise and love and these 15 previous ones!

- Every Word  & Every Move by Ellie Marney - This whole trilogy is one of my fave recent reads, and as a comtemporary retelling of Sherlock Holmes, I have ALL THE LOVE FOR IT! Release days are different for AUS & UK than for US, so many of my friends are still waiting for the final book. That's mainly the reason why I had these two here together instead of in the main list, confusing release dates!

- Written in Red, Murder of Crows & Vision in Silver by Anne Bishop - I read the whole series when I was approved for Vision in Silver via NG and holy crow, had I been missing out!! I'm already planning a re-read before Marked in Flesh next year!! Adult paranormal books and one of my new absolute fave series!

- The Bollywood Bride by Sonali Dev - Adult romance set in India and US, absolutely loved it to bits! Which is quite saying something given that I am not a big romance reader.

- When A Scot Ties the Knot by Tessa Dare - This year I started reading a lil bit more of historical romance on my friend Alyssa from The Eater of Books recommendation, and I absolutely adored this one!

There are many other amazing books I've read that were published this year but I was lucky enough to read early, so I didn't include them in this list. And I always feel awful having to pick and choose, even when I cheat!

  1. AHHHH! So many amazing books on this list Pili!!! I still need to read so many of them too. Fail. I love all things Mindee Arnett, and I need to get back to Dusty and Eli for sure. Queen of Shadows is my Christmas gift to my self, I can't wait to dive in! And I have the whole Anne Bishop series on my list for next year. I refuse to be out of the loop any longer!

  3. Some of these are on my list, too! And thank you for reminding me that I need to read Uprooted asap. Shame on me! I've been postponing it for far too long. I think I'll go buy the audio (which is 18 hours) right now. at least I'll have something to do while making Christmas cookies.

  7. You are braver than I am! I did this Top Ten feature last year and I was burned out on blog posts for a while. I am happy you decided to do this because one thing I loved last year was reading other people's posts! ADSOM is on my top ten, too. :)

    1. I did most of the posts on Sunday while having a nice cuppa tea & curling with my blankie, so it wasn't that bad! ;)

  9. I'm so happy to see so many of my favourites on your top 10 list too, Pili!! The Rest of Us Just Live Here was the first Patrick Ness novel I read and it was so good that it made me go out and read most of his other YA books! Currently moving on to his adult novels HAHA.

Illuminae, Six of Crows and Orphan Queen are at the top of my TBR list for 2016! I can't wait to get to them! I really wanted to read Vengeance Road last year, but I forgot all about it. I'll definitely have to get it this year though.

  11. I really liked Sonali Dev's previous book - Bollywood Affair, I think? - and also really liked When A Scot Ties the Knot, though I think the first book in the Castles Ever After series is still my fave. But I love Tessa Dare - she's consistently one of my favorite authors, and I can count on her for a good read (seriously, I don't think I've read anything that's disappointed me by her in YEARS, and that's saying something. I think I didn't like "Goddess of the Hunt" all the much?). Love love love her, though.

Ugh, I have "Written in Red" on my Kindle, I just haven't GOTTEN to it yet. UGH. And I have ADSoM but I haven't read it. And I haven't read Queen of Shadows because the library keeps TAKING IT BACK FROM ME. I'm sorry. So many caps! So many feelings!

But um, with you on Six of Crows and Uprooted and obvs also the romances, because yessssss. Here's to 2016 and solid romances and YA for both of us, I hope!
