ARC August: First week recap!

Once again I joined ARC August hosted by the lovely ladies of Read Sleep Repeat and this is my first recap post to keep myself accountable!

Between work and my apartment stuff related, I'm not reading as much as I hoped, but on this first week I've focused on reading eARCs, to try and get on with the ever ellusive 80% on NetGalley! I'm happy to report that right now I am at 79%! NEARLY THERE!!

I finished two eARCs this week, Fated by Sarah Fine that I reviewed HERE and Beastly Bones by William Ritter, which will be reviewed next week on the blog.

I've also got two other eARCs started, Riot of Storm & Smoke by Jennifer Ellision that I hope to finish today itself (and hopefully have up for review on Monday) and Legacy of Kings by Eleanor Herman that I hope to return to at some point and not just give up on... I'm currently at 43% but not too invested, too many POVs seem to be a problem for me...

For week 2 I plan to focus on physical ARCs, and since I'll be gone to my parents cottage for a few days next week, no distractions will mean loads of reading time, or so I hope!

I'll be back next Sunday for another recap!

  1. I should probably join into this next year. I am so far behind on ARCs, even though I'm trying really hard to get better! I loved Legacy of Kings. The numerous points of view were a problem for me at first, but I promise about half way through it got to where it wasn't an issue anymore.

    1. I hope so too, because I'm quite tempted to DNFing right now!

  2. YAY for being so close to 80%!

How have you been, Pili? The last time we spoke was when you were moving in to your apartment. Sorry I have not been around in a long while! First year of university was hectic! I hope you are doing well! :)

    1. ALEX!! So glad to see you around again girl! I hope that even if it was hectic all is good?
I'm nearly ready to move into my apartment, just a few more touches like lamps and some more furniture and I'll be ready to shift there and continue working while already living there!

  3. Oh I really wanted to join this, but I thought, I better not. Lately I get into these reading slumps super easily, so I'm strictly mood reading, both books I own and review books. And it is actually going well! So far this week I've read six books, I think (including 2 review books)!

Anyway, keep up the good work, you'll get there! :)

  4. YAYAYAYAYAY 79%! That is awesome! You are flying through these ARCs! Yeah Legacy of Kings was a struggle, it started getting good kind of late into the book, I don't think you've hit it yet. You would definitely NOT be the first to DNF though, there are a fair amount of DNF reviews on Goodreads.

Best of luck with the next ARC August week, Pili! :)
