Waiting On Wednesday #47!!

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted at Breaking The Spine  that spotlights those can't-wait-to-get-my-hands-on-them books that we are eagerly awaiting!

What book I'm excited to get my hands on this week? Landline by Rainbow Rowell!

Goodreads Summary:

"Georgie McCool knows her marriage is in trouble. That it’s been in trouble for a long time. She still loves her husband, Neal, and Neal still loves her, deeply — but that almost seems besides the point now.

Maybe that was always besides the point.

Two days before they’re supposed to visit Neal’s family in Omaha for Christmas, Georgie tells Neal that she can’t go. She’s a TV writer, and something’s come up on her show; she has to stay in Los Angeles. She knows that Neal will be upset with her — Neal is always a little upset with Georgie — but she doesn’t expect to him to pack up the kids and go home without her.

When her husband and the kids leave for the airport, Georgie wonders if she’s finally done it. If she’s ruined everything.

That night, Georgie discovers a way to communicate with Neal in the past. It’s not time travel, not exactly, but she feels like she’s been given an opportunity to fix her marriage before it starts . . .

Is that what she’s supposed to do?

Or would Georgie and Neal be better off if their marriage never happened?"

Why am I eagerly awaiting Landline? Well, Rainbow Rowell is one of my auto-buy list after reading and loving both Fangirl and Eleanor & Park! Though given my emotional state & situation right now, I'm not so sure this will be the right book for me right now!

What are you all (im)patiently awaiting this week?

  3. Based on the book description alone, I probably wouldn't have looked twice at this book, but it's Rainbow Rowell and I loved her Fangirl, so I'll definitely be giving this a try! Also, I really love this cover. I adore the covers for all of her books, in fact. Great pick, Pili! :)

  6. I'm waiting for Landline, too. I tried to get an ARC, but I failed. At least, I'm near the top of my queue at my library, so I'll get it as soon as it comes in. And yes, you do need to read Attachments!

  8. TELL ME ABOUT IT. Ugh, I seriously cannot wait for this one. It is one of my most anticipated reads of this year, and like you said, Rainbow Rowell is an automatic buy for me, too! I'm totally ready for the feels, fangirling, and laughs! I hope you love it!

  9. I haven't read a single Rainbow Rowell book but this may just be the first book I'm legitimately interested in. I would like to read something more mature, and since I'm out of my teen phase, I'd like books centering on marriage too while being readable to younger readers.

  12. THIS LOOKS SO GOOD! :D

Be gone the days when you used to sit there with you hand wrapping around the telephone cable while you chatted to a friend. Or better still when you had the get off the phone because someone else needed internet.

I am really looking forward to this one. It looks so old school!

Thanks for sharing, Pili and I hope you get it as soon as possible! :)
