Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted at Breaking The Spine that spotlights those can't-wait-to-get-my-hands-on-them books that we are eagerly awaiting!
What book I'm excited to get my hands on this week? Landline by Rainbow Rowell!
"Georgie McCool knows her marriage is in trouble. That it’s been in trouble for a long time. She still loves her husband, Neal, and Neal still loves her, deeply — but that almost seems besides the point now.
Maybe that was always besides the point.
Two days before they’re supposed to visit Neal’s family in Omaha for Christmas, Georgie tells Neal that she can’t go. She’s a TV writer, and something’s come up on her show; she has to stay in Los Angeles. She knows that Neal will be upset with her — Neal is always a little upset with Georgie — but she doesn’t expect to him to pack up the kids and go home without her.
When her husband and the kids leave for the airport, Georgie wonders if she’s finally done it. If she’s ruined everything.
That night, Georgie discovers a way to communicate with Neal in the past. It’s not time travel, not exactly, but she feels like she’s been given an opportunity to fix her marriage before it starts . . .
Is that what she’s supposed to do?
Or would Georgie and Neal be better off if their marriage never happened?"
Why am I eagerly awaiting Landline? Well, Rainbow Rowell is one of my auto-buy list after reading and loving both Fangirl and Eleanor & Park! Though given my emotional state & situation right now, I'm not so sure this will be the right book for me right now!
What are you all (im)patiently awaiting this week?
I know Rowell has a lot of hype surrounding her but I am not sure her books are for me .-. I am definitely intrigued by this one though because I really do want to know how things turn out for this couple!ReplyDelete
Great pick, Pili!! :)
Rashika @ The Social Potato
Thanks Rashika! I still need to read Attachments, but I've loved Eleanor & Park and Fangirl, so I'm quite excited for anything Rainbow Rowell!Delete
Haven't read her books yet, but will be ordering them soon. I read an excerpt of ATTACHMENTS and started laughing right away. All her books sound like I'd enjoy. Great choice!ReplyDelete

Based on the book description alone, I probably wouldn't have looked twice at this book, but it's Rainbow Rowell and I loved her Fangirl, so I'll definitely be giving this a try! Also, I really love this cover. I adore the covers for all of her books, in fact. Great pick, Pili! :)ReplyDelete
Thank you, Sam! It's true, her covers are all amazing & adorable!Delete
I have an ARC of this and I'm so excited to start it! But I really want to read Attachments as well! Love me some Rainbow R. :)ReplyDelete
Thanks for stopping by!
Sabrina @ I Heart Y.A. Fiction
Oooooh, I cannot wait to hear what you think of it, Sabrina!Delete
Yay :D Awesome pick sweetie. <3 I cannot wait for Landline as well. It looks and sounds so adorable. Sigh. I adore the author SO MUCH :) I have yet to read Adult.. so this will be my first, hih. <3ReplyDelete
Thank you, sweetie! I'm sure you'll enjoy this one a lot, cause it's a Rainbow Rowell book! ;)Delete
I'm waiting for Landline, too. I tried to get an ARC, but I failed. At least, I'm near the top of my queue at my library, so I'll get it as soon as it comes in. And yes, you do need to read Attachments!ReplyDelete
YAY for being near the top of the queue!! I have it preordered so I cannot wait!Delete
I loved your review of Attachments, btw!
Ooo, Landline! I'm actually not too excited to read this one, but I know how popular it is and will be. I hope you read and love it, Pili! :)ReplyDelete
Thanks for visiting my blog!
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
I really want to read this one, but I feel that I'll be pushing it back for a while. Emotionally too hard for me, probably!
TELL ME ABOUT IT. Ugh, I seriously cannot wait for this one. It is one of my most anticipated reads of this year, and like you said, Rainbow Rowell is an automatic buy for me, too! I'm totally ready for the feels, fangirling, and laughs! I hope you love it!ReplyDelete
Yay for Rainbow Rowell! *high fives*Delete
I haven't read a single Rainbow Rowell book but this may just be the first book I'm legitimately interested in. I would like to read something more mature, and since I'm out of my teen phase, I'd like books centering on marriage too while being readable to younger readers.ReplyDelete
Faye at The Social Potato Reviews
I hope you'll check it out and love it, Faye!Delete
I've only read Fangirl and Eleanor & Park, but I did enjoy both so I am psyched about this one as well! So curious about this one!ReplyDelete
We're only missing Attachments and this one then!Delete
I actually have this one and I am so excited for it! It will be my first Rowell read. :DReplyDelete
I hope you get it soon and enjoy it!
Ooooh, I cannot wait to see what you think of it!! Hope you'll love it!Delete
THIS LOOKS SO GOOD! :DReplyDelete
Be gone the days when you used to sit there with you hand wrapping around the telephone cable while you chatted to a friend. Or better still when you had the get off the phone because someone else needed internet.
I am really looking forward to this one. It looks so old school!
Thanks for sharing, Pili and I hope you get it as soon as possible! :)
Alex @ The Shelf Diaries
Thank you, Alex!!Delete
I loved the old cord phones so much!!
I dislike that you're still in a bad place, my friend. I WUV YOU! *hugs* I LOVED both Fangirl and E&P, but I still need to read Attachments. Have you read it? I'm looking forward to Landline though! I hope you enjoy it when you get a chance to read it!!! XOXOReplyDelete
*hugs* Thank you sweetie! I have bad days and good days and days in between, but I'm hanging in there!Delete
I still haven't read Attachaments either, maybe we should do a buddy read for that one!!
