Wednesday has arrived, once again, and with it, so has Wearing Handmade Wednesday!
This week I'm featuring another of my all time favourite sellers, the amazingly talented Lex of Smarmyclothes.
I own many Smarments (Smarmyclothes pieces) and many of them are custom pieces. Whatever she does, she always makes outstanding pieces! Not only she has an Etsy shop, she also has her own website and also manages WhatTheCraft.com, a website dedicated to crafters, with tutorials & all sort of resources and now, even awesome giveaways!
My little space to share my love for books, cupcakes and the handmade world, with some of my photography from time to time!

Muffnuts, the latest baking sensation!
Moody Monday? Cheer yourself up baking something nice!
Last week, Deb's posted a delicious recipe on her On Cupcake Moon blog (recipe day is Monday, so it's always a good way to start the week!) that I really wanted to try, Muffnuts!
What are muffnuts, you may ask? Well, they're the love child of muffins and donuts, of course!
Deb's recipe is a version of the recipe that the amazing Lex from SmarmyClothes posted on her blog, so if you want to make it, you can choose any of either recipe, or even better, try both!:
Deb's Glazed MuffNuts!
Smarmy's Cinnamon Sugar MuffNuts!
I went for Deb's recipe, but I had to improvise a bit, cause I was all out of vanilla extract (it's with my mum, in the cottage), so I decided to add a lil bit of cinnamon, just for taste. And I decided to not glaze them, since I wasn't making them properly.

They came out pretty well, taste wise, they're REALLY yummy, but a bit more muffin than donut... I think probably cause of the lack of vanilla extract...

And looks wise... I think I poured too much batter on each, so they did poof up a bit too much, and got stuck to the baking pan on the sides... lesson learnt for next time!

All in all, they're really yummy, and I want to try to bake them again! And also, try Lex's version too!

Giveaway Winning: 4!!
Friday's here! Though I work the weekend, so it really doesn't mean the same to me than to the rest of the people... but at least I've been a good girl and I've edited pics and I'm now working on a blog entry, unlike yesterday, when I spent most of the day in bed, sleeping (yes, I had to work that night, but still, I think I overdid the lazy).
Today's entry is about giveaways, yes, and more exactly about the 4 ones that I've been so lucky to win!!
I have entered many many giveaways since I discovered what they were, but this summer seems to have been my lucky time, cause I won one in July and 3!! in August!
The first giveaway I ever won was done by the lovely Krissy from Absidy Jewellry, and I won this gorgeous set of Butterfly pendant and earrings!:

Second giveaway was done by JPATpurses, and she was giving away one of her gadget purses that she has already discontinued selling, so it is even more unique! I'm thinking of using it as case for my point & shoot camera, cause I can hook it to my DSLR camera bag!:

Third giveaway was done by Janna from Teachermom, and though in her Etsy shop she offers all sorts of baby items, she was giving away a lovely bag! This one I intend to give as a present to a friend of mine, cause I know the fabric style and colours are totally up her alley!:

And fourth (and hopefully not last), I won a giveaway that miss Lex from Smarmyclothes did to promote her new addition to her shop: SmarmyLox FairyTails! And I won a pair of custom made ones that I still have to decide and pick, cause there are sooo many options!! Aren't they the custest thing?

And with this I leave you all till, hopefully tomorrow, or at the very least Sunday, with the extra 5 weeks Sundays Shots!

SmarmyClothes!
After going back to work, and actually having a good shift for once, I decided to spend some time re-checking the pics I have to use for my blog entries, and decided to get onto writing another blog entry while watching some Bones repeats.

I met Lex from SmarmyClothes through DIYScene, as I've met so many amazing others before. Lex not only is a very talented seamstress and designer, and aside from managing her own website and her Etsy shop, she also manages Whatthecraft.com, an amazing website full of all sorts of information, like tutorials and all sorts of helpful resources for crafters! She also organizes contests for crafters with amazing prices! (I am honoured to be part of the jury for those!).
My first purchase from Lex was a pair of Smarmickers, one with owls and one with skulls & crossbones, that I still haven't been brave enough to model, but after those I've been in love with many of her amazing clothing pieces, either reconstructed from shirts or made from scratch, and finally caved in and decided to jump at the chance and bought a short sleeved and a long sleeved tops. Both flawlessly constructed and sewed, both cute and with an edge, and both have become part of my absolute favourite pieces of clothing! I've very happily added Lex to the list of amazing DIY-ers I'll always go back to buying from!
Here you can see my Sneaky Mr Bat top (the bf says it's the right top to wear to see Batman) and my Bleeding Heart Disease top, that Miss Lex knew I'd love, being a nurse as I am (and she is).

I've also been thinking for a while to comission her for an Iron Maiden dress, since she accepts all sort of custom orders for reconstructing tees into tops, dresses or skirts, I just need to find the right Maiden shirt!
