Thankful Thursday: Online friends

Hello everyone!

Here we are again, and since it's Thursday, it's time to be thankful out loud.

So today my Thankful Thursday is for all my online friends.

It's so incredible that I've met so many amazing people through the internet, first though the Star Wars message boards, where even more than anyone, I met my boyfriend! And then, unexpectedly enough, I met handmade crafters and sellers through eBay when I started buying handmade. After joining a pair of handmade & crafting forums some of those sellers have become actual friends I keep in touch with, cause they're not only extremely talented artists but also awesome people!

If you want to meet quite a lot of them, do check out the Attack of the Craft boards! Thank you for being there Cindy, Kim, Lex, Ranon, Brooke, Mara, Ky, Maria, Deanna, Jamie, Cheri, Jinx, Andreanna, Nixx, Nicoles, Amber, Marykitten and Marycakes and everyone else, I love you loads!

And I want to give a special mention to two friends that I've met through the crafters, Etsy and became friends on Facebook: Marie-Helene, my dear fellow mad bookwork from Canada; and Deb, amazingly talented artist and my beloved taste twin! I love you guys!

So, thank you, Universe for putting such great people on my way to meet!

Friday Feature: Eden Gallery!

Hiya there everyone!

Still trying to get into the rhythm of blogging again, so here I am with a Friday Feature! Today I wanna show off the amazing work and skills of a super nice Southern lady called Deanna that I met through Attack Of The Craft (it really couldn't be any other way, that place is chock full of awesome artists and crafters!). She & her husband have an awesome Etsy shop called Eden Gallery to which they both contribute with their different but complementary pieces, Deanna does the paintings, different sizes and even amazing miniature pendants, and her husband does the steampunk pieces!

I got myself this amazing small painting quite a while back, and it was an absolute joy to photograph and that has that amazing mix of slightly Burtonian and loads of Victorian charm to it! It's absolutely amazing the detail and the skill that you can see in this piece, it's an absolute wonder be it from afar or close up!

I really just can't wait to have my own place to display it properly! It'll add a lot of charm to any living/dining-room!

Handmade Wednesday: Traveling Plushie Swap at AOTC!

Hey there!

Today I'm introducing you to Mr Rufus! He's a super cute little puppy plushie I bought from Vivikas Etsy shop for a purpose, and not only cause he's super cute and super adorable! I got this little guy to participate in the Traveling Plushie Swap at Attack of the Craft! Since I can't sew to save my life, I decided to buy handmade to at least keep up with the handmade-ness of the idea!

I took this photos before sending him to my partner, and I'm hoping my plushie will arrive in time for me to pack it with me to India, so it can do a lot of sigh-seeing with me!

Rufus and his bone, he's a lovely puppy, but a bit particular about his bone, no sharing!

Attack of the Craft Book Club!

Friday is here again!

With the weekend almost here, and some time off coming, what better than curling in your sofa with a good book and a nice cup of tea? At least that's my idea of a lovely relaxing day!

Being the crazy bookworm I am, it was only a question of time till I ended up organizing a book club with other members of the Attack of the Craft, after one of them suggested all the bookworms with similar taste organized one!

For now, we're in the process of people signing up for it, and voting on a book genre poll, and we'll later select a book to read during March. We'll be discussing the book progress weekly on AOTC chat. I'm really excited about this, I've never been part of a book club, but I'm hoping this will be a fun experience and a way to discover new books!

I'll be probably blogging each month about the book we'll choose for the book club, if I can find a good name for my entries... any suggestions?

If you want to join us, head over to the AOTC forum, sign up for it and look for the book section, cause you know... the more the merrier!

Wearing Handmade Wednesday: Darling Niki!

Wednesday as arrived once again, and so has my Wearing Handmade Wednesday entry!

Autumn has arrived, and with it the rain, the chilly weather and all the reasons to take out your hoodies, long sleeves and coats!

Darling Niki coat!

I got this super cute perfect-for-autumn coat from Darling Niki this past May, so I didn't really got a chance to wear it till now. It was created as part of the CraftAnon Etsy Street Team theme for November (Cosmic Latte!) and I was lucky enough to get it when it was on sale! It's perfect for those days of autumn or spring, when it's getting chilly but not too cool, and you get to look chic and cozy!

Candied Strands!

Happy Friday everyone!

Back onto the blogging routine again, and with some nice photos taken by my personal photographer, so I'm now catching up with some entries that have been in the wait list for a while!

I met Nicole, the artist behind Candied Strands through the Attack of the Craft forums (as many others before!) and I absolutely fell in love with her submission for the CraftAnon Etsy Street Team Mythology themed monthly challenge, the Artemis necklace & earrings set!

Taking advantage of one of the TNT (Thursday Night Temptation) weekly sales I snatched it and quite quickly for flying across the pond, it got home in a week!

I love the presentation of it, jewellry always looks so nice inside nice-looking neat boxes! And the colours of the beads and the amazing lovely detail of the pentacle is absolutely great! As the bf says, it looks lovely and cute with a lil hidden darker side, just like myself!

And it has the perfect length to hide but at the same time enhance any cleavage! ;)

Zen and Coffee Designs!

First things first... you have to allow me to celebrate that Spain will be playing the final of the World Cup against Holland! Hooray!! The very first time we've made it this far!!

And now, we will continue with the scheduled program for the day...

Today's blog entry is dedicated to Wren from Zen And Coffee designs, and her lovely arm warmers and fingerless gloves! I met Wren at the Attack of Craft forum, and loved her shop! She has all sort of fingerless gloves, from Alice inspired ones, to velvety ones, to any and all that you can wish for!

Since she belongs to the CraftAnon Etsy Street Team, she usually takes part of the weekly TNT sales (every Thursday a different sale on tons of Etsy shops), so I decided to take advantage of said sale one week, and got me two pairs of fingerless gloves!

All her pairs have unique names, and I got me the "She's In Parties" and the "The Sanity Assassin" pairs! Both are made with stretchy velvet fabric, both equally gorgeous!

The fabric is probably not the ideal for the heat wave we have right now, but it's not as hot to wear them as I would have expected either. They're really comfy and look great on!

I'm already planning on what other pair(s) to get next! I have my eye on the Alice's Curiouser and Curiouser ones, and also in the First Jhana ones! But as I said, she has so many great pieces! She even has some Doctor Who inspired pieces!

Attack of the Craft!

Hey there!

Happy weekend off to me! ;) These last days at work have been pretty rough, and I really needed some time off!

I just wanted to randomly update the blog for a bit, and also to introduce you all to a new forum I've just joined, and here I give you:

Attack of the Craft! A forum made for crafters by crafters!

Attack of The Craft - A Discussion Forum for Crafters, DiY Artisans, and Lovers of Handmade!

Where even the non-crafty ones like myself are welcome, and where you can talk anything and everything craft and non-craft related!

Since G has gone to the cinema, I'll be spending quite some time of my evening in there, so if you decide to take a look and join... I'll be there! ;)
