Hollyrocks!!

Hello there! Happy Friday!


Happier for me, as since after working the last two weekends on a row, I'm having a long weekend, and enjoying Friday, Saturday & Sunday off!


Today, I'm gonna be celebrating my friend's Pilu b-day with her, having sushi for lunch, and she's getting a good few handmade pressies too! So, to celebrate this rocking Friday, I'm featuring the talented & lovely Holly from Hollyrocks!


I met Holly through her Hollyrocks blog, where she shares her lovely handmade creations, her stories about squirrels, her work and her loves! From there, it was only logical that I'd check her Etsy shop, fell in love with loads of goodies, and eventually ended up buying something!


I decided that my first purchase had to be her Spiral Heart pendant, not only cause it's gorgeous but also cause it belongs to a series of listings from different sellers (Etsy Project Embrace) from which the funds go to the American Cancer Society, and since I work as an Oncology RN, I thought it was a great idea for a very worthy cause.



Holly sent me not only my wonderful pendant, but two gorgeous extras! The original pendant is in pink, so it'd be a great purchase and present this month since pink is the colour of October, to remind us of the fight against breast cancer. And she added a purple and a deep red ones!





She packed everything so lovely, I felt I was getting a proper present! And not only she included the two pendants, but also added a lil handmade magnet with her shop name, so cute!











I'm so in love with all the pendants! I'm trying to decide which one to keep and which ones to give as gifts, but I just can't decide! Maybe I should keep them all? But I really shouldn't be greedy, and share the gifts I get! Oh well...




I do plan on getting some more goodies for Holly's shop, since I'm in love with her Fall Leaf pendants, the red one is my favourite and also her I Caught A Star necklace!

A little newness, my first blog button!

Well, today I decided to work on my very first blog button!

Creating the image for the button, was way easier than I would have though, I chose my photo, and did ALL the editing in Picnik (if you aren't too skilled or photoshop scares you, picnik is the perfect option for editing photos for all purposes, Sharon from MorganStreet recommended it to me, and I love it!).

Then I uploaded it in my Flickr page (Photobucket works too, of course) cause you'd need the direct link for later.

I was following another tutorial, cause I'm not the most internet/coding/IT savvy person, but I couldn't get it to work, I was getting the code, but the image didn't show (GRRR!), so I went and did a lil google search and found this super easy tutorial by Shabby Blogs with the code for it and it worked like a charm!

So here it is!:

A lil Saturday update! A Kreativ Blogger Award

Feels so good to be home, relaxing on the sofa (thinking of going to sleep soon), after having a great time out with my friend Pilu.


We went for lunch at an Italian, had some absolutely yummy foods, with a bottle of wine, and then went to see New Moon! I liked the movie, I think the Vulturi were very well cast! And as I said, I liked the movie, but all the teenager girls screaming at the screen for Jacob or Edward is not the way I like watching movies. I guess my anti-social-ness comes out cause I don't like the traffic and crowds of malls on Saturday.


Yesterday I got a very cool award from my very talented friend, Miss Sheika, who is an amazing artist, so I'm truly honoured to be given a Kreativ Blogger award! You really need to check her blog for her amazing weekly comic entries!

7 things about me that you might or might not know:

- English is my second language, but I was attracted to learning the language when I was 3 and wanted to watch Muzzy, a green fuzzy alien cartoon that was in English!

- I've always loved to travel, and now I make two (or three) long international (and intercontinental) trips a year to spend time with my bf.

- I have shopping issues, I tend to shop to compensate emotional haggard so when I'm feeling particularly crappy about missing the bf, or work was been too tolling... I go a bit crazy on Etsy or buying books.

- I love books, buying them, reading them, hoarding them! I want to have a HUGE library in my dream house.

- I'm extremely ecclectic with my taste in music, I can like Iron Maiden and Kylie Minogue at the same time!

- I have a bit of an irrational attraction for all things Pagan (think ancient Celtic & all sorts of Mythology) for an atheist.
