Waiting On Wednesday #90!!

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted at Breaking The Spine  that spotlights those can't-wait-to-get-my-hands-on-them books that we are eagerly awaiting!

What book is the one that I'm not-so-patiently waiting for my preorder to arrive in the mail this week? Rogue by Julie Kagawa!!

Goodreads Summary:

"Ember Hill left the dragon organization Talon to take her chances with rebel dragon Cobalt and his crew of rogues. But Ember can't forget the sacrifice made for her by the human boy who could have killed her—Garret Xavier Sebastian, a soldier of the dragonslaying Order of St. George, the boy who saved her from a Talon assassin, knowing that by doing so, he'd signed his own death warrant.

Determined to save Garret from execution, Ember must convince Cobalt to help her break into the Order's headquarters. With assassins after them and Ember's own brother helping Talon with the hunt, the rogues find an unexpected ally in Garret and a new perspective on the underground battle between Talon and St. George.

A reckoning is brewing and the secrets hidden by both sides are shocking and deadly. Soon Ember must decide: Should she retreat to fight another day…or start an all-out war?"

Why am I eagerly awaiting Rogue? Well, I read Talon and really enjoyed it, even if I wasn't too keen on the love triangle, but I cannot wait to learn more about the world of dragons and their past history with the Order of St George!!

What are you all (im)patiently awaiting this week?

  2. I read this last week and it was a fantastic follow up to Talon! I'm not a huge fan of the love triangle either - mainly because I don't like Riley/Cobalt - but it's a bit better in this one. Not long to wait now! :D

    1. I'm also a Team Xavier girl, but I'm glad to hear the love triangle wasn't as bad on this one!

  3. AH!!! I still need to read Talon Pili! I think this will work out well though, I'll be able to read them back to back when Rogue comes out and bingeing (binge-ing?) on Julie Kagawa is always a good thing! Hopefully the love triangle fades away in this second book though ;-)

    1. Binge-ing? Bingeing? No clue, but yeah binge-reading Julie Kagawa books is ALWAYS a good choice! And YES! I do hope the love triangle loses steam in this book...

  6. Oh, yes, please! We were left with such a mean open ending, I wanted the next book right that second! I hope MacLeod Andrews narrates it again, that would make the audio the only way to go for me.

  7. Well, I will say I loved the cover of Talon and that was about it. The cover for Rogue is equally as wonderful, but I prefer my dragons in dragon form doing dragon things. I will probably eventually read some of her other work because quite a few of her fans didn't love Talon either. I am still waiting for Of Delicate Pieces, the sequel to Of Breakable things. The author said we will get to see the cover this month!

    1. I liked Talon, though it is not my fave book of hers. I still need to read Of Delicate Pieces and I hope I will before the sequel releases!

  8. I'm really behind on my reading. I own book one but haven't had the chance to read it yet. But knowing the author, I have a feeling that once I read it I'll be counting down the days until I can get this one too.

  9. I won't be reading Talon or Rogue - funny, I have yet to read any of Kagawa's books. I hope you enjoy this book when you read it!

And I hope you're having a lovely week, Pili :)

    1. It's been a full of feelings week, read a lot of contemporary which is strange, but good ones!
      Thank you Alyssa!

    2. I feel like sometimes, reading contemporary is the BEST thing when I'm having emotional battles (for whatever reason). Seems contrary because I usually don't like contemporary, but at the same time, the right ones are like a balm to my poor soul. I think you understand this :) *hugs*

Great pick Pili. <3 I'm excited for this too, despite not having read book one, and despite that love triangle :p but I'm hoping and hoping and hoping the triangle thing will be DONE at the end of this sequel. I shall peek and see, when my copy arrives, lol :) Anyway. Gorgeous pick sweetie. <3 I hope you'll love it :)
