Waiting On Wednesday #78!!

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted at Breaking The Spine  that spotlights those can't-wait-to-get-my-hands-on-them books that we are eagerly awaiting!

What book am I eagerly awaiting and bitting my nails while I await its arrival? The Shadow Cabinet by Maureen Johnson!

Goodreads Summary:

"The thrilling third installment to the Edgar-nominated, bestselling series.

Rory and her friends are reeling from a series of sudden and tragic events. While racked with grief, Rory tries to determine if she acted in time to save a member of the squad. If she did, how do you find a ghost? Also, Rory’s classmate Charlotte has been kidnapped by Jane and her nefarious organization. Evidence is uncovered of a forty-year-old cult, ten missing teenagers, and a likely mass murder. Everything indicates that Charlotte’s in danger, and it seems that something much bigger and much more terrible is coming.

Time is running out as Rory fights to find her friends and the ghost squad struggles to stop Jane from unleashing her spectral nightmare on the entire city. In the process, they'll discover the existence of an organization that underpins London itself—and Rory will learn that someone she trusts has been keeping a tremendous secret."

Why am I eagerly awaiting The Shadow Cabinet? Well, I read and loved the two first books in the series last year and the ending of book two was rather cruel, so I cannot wait to read this one! I'm not sure if it's the final book in a trilogy or the third book in a longer series though!

What are you all (im)patiently awaiting this week?

  2. Do you know I've never read anything by Maureen Johnson? How much do I fail Pili! There are so many amazing authors out there I want to try but haven't had time to get to yet. I have a hard enough time keeping up with my favorites! I hope this book is everything you want it to be though:)

  5. Yay! I hope you'll love this book Pili. <3 Fingers crossed :) I liked book one, but had issues, so didn't read book two :p but I have pre-ordered the UK paperback of this one (A) so I'm planning on reading them all. One day. Maybe. Was so pissed off about the romance :p It bothered me. Sigh. Anyway. Thank you for sharing sweetie. <3

  7. I read the first book when it came out and adored it as i'm a big fan of stories about Jack the Ripper. But I haven't felt the pull to read the sequel yet. I'm not sure if I'll enjoy them.

    1. Yeah, the second book was about more than just Jack the Ripper and though I really liked it too, it was a lil different, the scope was wider! I'd still suggest you'd give it a try Mari!

  8. Hmmm, I think I have the first book in the series... or maybe I gave away my copy... I'm *almost* curious enough to read the book, but that would mean starting a new series, which I'm being even pickier about this year :D I hope you enjoy this book when you read it!

Have a fabulous week, Pili :)

  13. I'm glad to hear that you loved the first two books. I bought them both at a signing with Maureen almost two years ago. And....I still haven't read them. But I requested Shadow Cabinet from my library in an attempt to try to get myself to finally read these. Hopfeully it works!

  14. This reminds me that I haven't read the series! :P A lot of my friends love the series though so I don't know why I've been putting off reading it for so long! It's so hard to read all the books though, Pili! Especially since we all have so many recommendations coming from various sources *sigh*

I hope this book will be what you want it to be and will give you a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy :)
