Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted at Breaking The Spine that spotlights those can't-wait-to-get-my-hands-on-them books that we are eagerly awaiting!
What book am I not-really-patiently waiting for this week? Unleashed by Sophie Jordan!!
Goodreads Summary:
"Unleashed, the romantic, high-stakes sequel to New York Times bestselling author Sophie Jordan's Uninvited, is perfect for fans of James Patterson's Confessions of a Murder Suspect.
Davy has spent the last few months trying to come to terms with the fact that she tested positive for the kill gene HTS (also known as Homicidal Tendency Syndrome). She swore she would not let it change her, and that her DNA did not define her . . . but then she killed a man.
Now on the run, Davy must decide whether she'll be ruled by the kill gene or if she'll follow her heart and fight for her right to live free. But with her own potential for violence lying right beneath the surface, Davy doesn't even know if she can trust herself."
Why am I eagerly awaiting Unleashed?? Well, it's the sequel to Uninvited, and I absolutely LOVED Uninvited last year, so I cannot wait for its sequel/series ender! And it'll be one of the few dystopians I'll be reading this year too!
What are you all (im)patiently awaiting this week?
I'm so nervous for this one Pili!!! Like you, I absolutely adored Uninvited last year, but I've heard a love triangle comes into play in this one and I'm not as excited about that. Maybe I'll wait to see what you think and if it bothers you at all:) *crosses fingers it's awesome*
ReplyDeleteYeah, adding a love triangle in the final book of a duology doesn't seem like the best move but who knows... I'll let you know, Jenny!
DeleteI have not read this series cause I've heard mixed things but I do want to try :D
ReplyDeleteThe first book was amazing and I loved it, I'm hoping I'll like this one as much!
DeleteYay :D I hope you'll end up loving this book when you read it Pili. <3 I haven't read book one yet :p But SOOON. Probably. I'm not pre-ordering this one, though :( Seems like a love triangle. Which makes so angry :p but very curious to know what you think of it, to see if there is a triangle for real, hih :) It do seem great. Thank you for sharing sweetie. <3
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm not very keen on the whole adding a love triangle here, but we'll see... Thank you Carina!
DeleteOh GREAT pick today! Very GREAT!! ;)
ReplyDeleteHere's my WoW
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Thank you Jessica! I do hope it'll be a great read once I get it! =D
DeleteI've lost interest in this one due to the weird-sounding implied romance... but you'll let me know how it is when you read it!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day, Pili :)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
Thank you Alyssa dear! I do hope the romance won't be as bad as it might sound!
DeleteI am so ready for this one too! I read the first one as an egalley, and hate waiting to read this one! Great choice!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my WOW
I'm so ready too Lisa! I hope it'll be a great sequel!
DeleteOooh, awesome! I still need to read the first one, which I've recently bought... I think? *Thinks* Yeah, I think I did buy it not that long ago, LOL. I have too many books to remember, haha
ReplyDeleteI hope you will enjoy Uninvited, Lili! I loved it!
DeleteI'm so glad you enjoyed Uninvited!! I just got that book, and I'm meeting the author at Apollycon in a few weeks :D
ReplyDeleteI hope you will enjoy Uninvited Rachel! Have a blast at Apollycon and tweet all about so I can live it vicariously through you!
DeleteI don't read mystery/thriller stories, but it sounds action packed. If I was doing a WOW, I would say The Sin Eater's Daughter because there is not much longer to wait!
ReplyDeleteYES!! I hope my preorder will ship & arrive soon!!
DeleteI did read Sophie Jordan's last series and had a sort of love hate relationship. This one I've looked at, thought about but haven't picked up yet. Enjoy.

I really loved the first book, though I'm a bit wary about this one after a few reviews I've read!
DeleteI am (somewhat surprisingly) also eager to read Unleashed. I liked Uninvited, for the most part, but I hated the romance. I don't expect that part to get any better, but I hope there is a continued good story to balance it out.
ReplyDeleteI'm uneasy about what I've heard for the romance in this one, but I'm hoping we'll both enjoy the book after all!
DeleteUnleashed! I neeeeeeeeed this one so bad! Uninvited was fantastic and I can't wait to see what's in store for Davy now and what she's going to do!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant pick, Pili! :D
Thank you, Samantha! I hope we'll both love this one!
DeleteI feel like I've said this already, but I just bought Uninvited a few days ago, and I'm hoping to fit it in soon. The premise is fascinating, which is why I even considered it, b/c I tend to avoid dystopians too. Unless it's Red Rising, LOL. Anyway, great pick! Hopefully it will be on my wishlist soon also ;)
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling of deja vu Jessica! You might need to start getting to some of the books you should be reading soon! ;)
DeleteThank you!
I really want to read this one! Uninvited went pretty well for me and I'm anxious to get this one on my bookshelf. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree! I'm excited (if a bit scared) to read this one!
