Wearing Handmade Wednesday: Julian Bean!!

Hello everyone! Not keeping my promise as well as I should, but I'm finally back with a blog entry!

For today's Wearing Handmade Wednesday one of my besties since college and fellow nurse, Pilu, and featuring one of my very favourite artisans & crafters, Erin from Julian Bean!

I fell in love with this set a while back, and since Pilu's favourite colours is black, and this black and white set was just perfect! And Pilu absolutely loved it!

Buying handmade is always a guarantee of an unique gift, and one that will be loved by the recipient, and also, quite a wonderful experience, buying from an independent artisan that puts loads of love into their work!

Friday Feature: Love And Knit!!

It's finally Friday and so there's a new feature to share with you all!

This week I wanna show you something that might no be ideal for the weather that's coming, but a nicely knitted cardigan can be a blessing on a cool summer night!

I had been in love with Love & Knit's cardigan for a long long time, and I was waiting either for a sale or for a time when the dollar was a bit low, and my Euros were worth more! That time came a lil back, and I started trying to decide which colour I wanted my cardigan to be, and though the ones she has available are lovely, I saw the ideal colour in her shop in one of her slouchy hats. I had read she did customs, so I asked Mine via convo if she'd be willing to make her cardigan in blue, and she was super nice and said that she'd happily knit it in any colour from her shop I wanted!

Mine designed and knits every garment when you order them, so for any cardigan it can take up to two weeks to knit it, and then you need to count for shipping time from Turkey (which in my case is not too far away, since it's only on the other side of the Mediterranean). Truth be told I was ready to wait for as long as necessary, but Mine shipped my cardigan & it arrived in barely the two weeks she said!

I love the colour I chose for my cardigan, and I'm very happy I went for a custom colour, that way my cardigan is more my own! When it arrived, I was blown away by how so well knitted it is, but I was also a bit confused as how to wear it properly, but once I figured it out, it's great cause there's no up or down, you just have to grab the sleeves, fold a side for the neck, and ta dah! Warm & lovely cardigan on!

Wearing Handmade Wednesday: Cotton And Cloud!!

Wearing Handmade Wednesday has arrived, and one more week it's been rescued from the folder of old pictures!

I keep on having to check my back up HDD for photos, cause I have been seriously lacking in the photo department, but I do hope it'll get better soon!

In good old cold Wisconsin wearing my reversible Cotton And Cloud fingerless gloves!

The super cute fingerless gloves were made by the talented & awfully nice Kyoko of Cotton And Cloud! I have already featured Cotton And Cloud here, but I don't think I got to show off these gloves, they're so cute I had to get some as presents for my friends too! ;) She used to sell on Etsy, but right now she's only selling from her website's shop, and she's mostly selling her own patterns, materials and unique Japanese craft books, although she also sells some of her handmade product though only purses and bags, no gloves or shawls. Which means, her shop is a must stop for knitters & crocheters, and a place to wish we could knit &/or crochet to those of us that can't! ;)

And don't forget to check out her blog too, she posts all sorts of tricks, free patterns and general kitty cuteness!

Wearing Handmade Wednesday: Julian Bean Accessories!!

Hello everyone! Today is that day of the week so it's time for Wearing Handmade Wednesday again!

My sis-in-law wearing my Cranberry Julian Bean slouch hat!

During our gift giving celebration & dinner in Jan 5th (the official day is Jan 6th, but in my family we do it our way) my sis-in-law saw my cranberry Julian Bean beanie hat, and liked it so much that she tried it own and decided to ask me for one for herself!

I still need to talk to her about what colour she wants it to be, and what colour she wants to button, cause she said she wanted just one accent button, like this one. That's the best thing about the Julian Bean beanie hats, you can choose to make it, exactly as you want it, one button or two, and she has 24 colours of yarn to choose from! I'm actually waiting for my 3rd hat to arrive in the mail any day now, and this one is a button-less one!

And in case you'd wonder, yes, it's yours truly in the first pic of the beanie hat listing! ;)

Wearing Handmade Wednesday: Oveja Negra!

Brrr, hello everyone! Even if it's not too horrible cold here in Spain, and there's no snow (as I got on my layover in London), it is winter, so it's cold! And today is a wintery Wearing Handmade Wednesday edition!

Today it's the start of my Christmas holidays, you might think it's a bit odd, but since Jan 6th is our day for giving presents, the Holidays are not over yet! And after working through Christmas Day and New Year's Eve, now it's my time to enjoy the time off, get presents and eat Roscón de Reyes!

My Riona jacket from Oveja Negra!

Here you can see my lovely hand knitted coat that came all the way from Argentina! Rosario is the lady behind Oveja Negra, and the one that designs and knits the coats and jackets you can find in her Etsy shop! My Riona coat might not be ideal for very cold weather, but for sunny days in winter, and for fall and early spring days, it's lovely!
