Waiting On Wednesday #73!!

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted at Breaking The Spine  that spotlights those can't-wait-to-get-my-hands-on-them books that we are eagerly awaiting!

This week the book I'm absolutely dying to read is a sequel of a book that I read because it came highly recommended by one of my canaries and bookish friends, Kristen from My Friends Are Fiction. And book might that be, you say? The Mime Order by Samantha Shannon!!

Goodreads Summary:

"Paige Mahoney has escaped the brutal penal colony of Sheol I, but her problems have only just begun: many of the fugitives are still missing and she is the most wanted person in London.

As Scion turns its all-seeing eye on Paige, the mime-lords and mime-queens of the city’s gangs are invited to a rare meeting of the Unnatural Assembly. Jaxon Hall and his Seven Seals prepare to take center stage, but there are bitter fault lines running through the clairvoyant community and dark secrets around every corner.

Then the Rephaim begin crawling out from the shadows. But where is Warden? Paige must keep moving, from Seven Dials to Grub Street to the secret catacombs of Camden, until the fate of the underworld can be decided. Will Paige know who to trust? The hunt for the dreamwalker is on."

Why am I eagerly awaiting The Mime Order? Well, I adored The Bone Season, that was book one and I adored everything about the book, from the world building that was intricate and complex and simply fantastic, to Paige the main character to Warden, and I just cannot wait to get back into this world! I read a sampler for this book and loved it, so I cannot wait till I can read the next book!

What are you all (im)patiently awaiting this week?

  1. I have two. The sequel to Gates of Thread and Stone titled The Infinite, and the sequel to Of Breakable Things. I think the author said somewhere that it might be called Of Delicate Pieces. Both of them are coming out in the spring, so I hope there will be ARCs in January/February.

  2. I haven't read the first one in this series, and I feel like I need to. But every time I pick it up and read the blurb on the cover, I don't feel interested. So who knows. Thanks for visiting my post earlier!

    1. I loved The Bone Season! It was fascinating but the world building was heavy and the pacing was more slow than YA books... so if you give it a try, keep that in mind!

  3. WARDEN PILI!!!!! I LOVE HIM! He's right up there with Barrons and Ryodan for me, I loved him that much. What can I say, I'm a sucker for male characters who are unpredictable and at any minute could do something unforgivable. I can't wait to see what unfolds in this one:)

  5. Teehee! I just reviewed this one (as you saw, I believe). It was kind of awesome, if I may say so myself. Too bad the series is seven books long D: Anyway, I hope you enjoy this book when you read it, Pili!
