Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted at Breaking The Spine that spotlights those can't-wait-to-get-my-hands-on-them books that we are eagerly awaiting!
This week I have one of those books that were postponed for a while and that I've been dying for since I finished my binge read of the Fever series, one of those Urban Fantasy series that I'm still as hooked as with the first few books, so I'm going nuts waiting for Burned by Karen Marie Moning!
Goodreads Summary:
" It’s easy to walk away from lies. Power is another thing.
MacKayla Lane would do anything to save the home she loves. A gifted sidhe-seer, she’s already fought and defeated the deadly Sinsar Dubh—an ancient book of terrible evil—yet its hold on her has never been stronger.
When the wall that protected humans from the seductive, insatiable Fae was destroyed on Halloween, long-imprisoned immortals ravaged the planet. Now Dublin is a war zone with factions battling for control. As the city heats up and the ice left by the Hoar Frost King melts, tempers flare, passions run red-hot, and dangerous lines get crossed. Seelie and Unseelie vie for power against nine ancient immortals who have governed Dublin for millennia; a rival band of sidhe-seers invades the city, determined to claim it for their own; Mac’s former protégé and best friend, Dani “Mega” O’Malley, is now her fierce enemy; and even more urgent, Highland druid Christian MacKeltar has been captured by the Crimson Hag and is being driven deeper into Unseelie madness with each passing day. The only one Mac can depend on is the powerful, dangerous immortal Jericho Barrons, but even their fiery bond is tested by betrayal.
It’s a world where staying alive is a constant struggle, the line between good and evil gets blurred, and every alliance comes at a price. In an epic battle against dark forces, Mac must decide who she can trust, and what her survival is ultimately worth."
Why am I eagerly awaiting Burned? Well... BARRONS!!! MAC!! Need I say more!?!? If you don't know what I'm screaming about, just go grab Darkfever and start reading!
What are you all (im)patiently awaiting this week?
I've never heard of this one but OMG ADULT ROMANCE THAT'S ALL I NEED SIGN ME UP :D I hope you enjoy the book when you read it, Pili!
ReplyDeleteAlyssa @ The Eater of Books!
Seriously Alyssa... BARRONS IS QUITE SOMETHING!! One of the few Alphas I like! ;)
DeleteOkay. I love this series Pili. LOVE IT. I'm completely obsessed with Barrons. That being said though, I've lost a little of my excitement for this one because it was supposed to be Dani's book and now it's switched back to Mac and I don't know how I feel about that. Did you read Iced? I loved that book SO MUCH and wanted Dani and Ryodan to have their time as main characters, so I'm bummed that they'll be secondary to Mac once again:( Still, this series is brilliant and I know I'll devour Burned in one sitting. Barrrrrrroooooooonnnnnnnnssssssss :)
ReplyDeleteBARROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONS!! He, Reyes and Ethan are the only 3 alpha males I not only tolerate but simply adoooore!
DeleteI liked Dani's POV but I kept missing Mac's voice so I'm not as upset at the change of POV, though I'd wish for dual POV, between Dani and Mac!
Looks like a sexy read was your pick this week! :-) Thanks for stopping by my post earlier!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, Lisa, you have nooo idea!! *fans self*
DeleteI am curious about these books :D I own some small paperbacks of the first five :p some years ago I peeked at many of them.. not sure how I feel about all the sex with other people :\ but hoping it isn't too bad, hih. I will read them one day :D Anyway. Amazing pick Pili. <3 I hope you will end up loving this one :)
ReplyDeleteThese books have a lot of build up for the sex to happen, I think only in book 3 and onwards so maybe give a try to book 1 and 2 and see what you think?
DeleteThank you so much sweetie, I do hope I'll love this one too!
Ok, Darkfever! I need to look into this series!
ReplyDeleteYES! You do! This is one of my Top 3 Urban Fantasy series!
DeleteBARRONS!!! Omg I love the Fever series so hard! I never read that spin off that came out though I'm assuming this is either another spin off or the sequel to the other one!? Something Ice. Time to look it up so I'm not missing out!!
ReplyDeleteWell, ICED was a continuation of the story from Dani's POV, but this one is once again told from Mac's POV, so it's not really a spin-off per se!
DeleteAND YES!! MORE BARROOONS!!
I still haven't given Darkfever a go yet, even though I have it on my Kindle or on my bookshelf somewhere! I will sometime though, I've been meaning to.
ReplyDeleteStart the series Jeann!! It's one of my top three urban fantasy reads!!
DeleteAh, bloody Darkfever... I remember reading that one and becoming all wrathful because the MC annoyed the heck out of me O.O I'll have to give it another try because the succeeding books seem to be better than the first anyway.
ReplyDeleteFaye at The Social Potato
Well, yes... Mac was annoying in the first book, but I ended up loving her and she improves SOOOO much in the next books!! Give them another tryyyyy Faye!!
DeleteI have never read one of her books, but now I must!!
ReplyDeleteYES YOU DO!
DeleteBARRONS!! OMG!! You love the Fever series ?@&!*? I think I just fell in ♥love♥ with you lol. I love love love this series. I can't believe that Burned is finally almost here! It's only been two years O_o I'm just glad the wait is over. Now I can read ICED. This was an AWESOME pick Pili ♥♥♥

YAY!! BARRONS!! 2 years has been an even longer wait than usual but I'm sure it'll be worth it!
DeletePrepare yourself for ICED Helena, Dani's voice is quite different from Mac's! I'm not gonna say I disliked her, but I missed Mac's POV!
Yay for fellow Fever series lovers!! Thank youuuu!!
