Lucky IS Reading Giveaway Hop!!

Hello guys!

Today I'm very happy to once again take part on the Lucky IS Reading Giveaway Hop hosted and organized by Stuck In Books!

This was my first hop ever last year and it's probably my favourite one because I'm a big fan of March, with spring coming, St Patrick's Day and my feeling a lil bit Irish!

This year I'm gonna be giving away a book that I was very lucky to get in advance to read and review and also I got extremely lucky to get sent an extra copy to share, so it's perfect for this lucky giveaway! And the book in question is First World Problems by Leigh Ann Kopans!!

Dylan doesn't seem very interested in sharing this book with you all, but I will make sure once a winner is chosen he'll release the hostage! ;)

All you have to do to is enter the rafflecopter below, OPEN INTERNATIONAL!!

 a Rafflecopter giveaway

And that's all folks! Now go on and check the rest of the blogs that are taking part of the hop and try your luck winning more amazing books!

Waiting On Wednesday #56!!

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted at Breaking The Spine  that spotlights those can't-wait-to-get-my-hands-on-them books that we are eagerly awaiting!

Sooo, what book am I really really really looking forward to this week? First World Problems by LeighAnn Kopans!

Goodreads Summary:

"Sofia Cole has always been able to get anything she wants through begging, flirting, and shameless manipulation of everyone around her.

Sofia doesn't think that Dad sending her on a gap service year to Guyana to address how "spoiled" she is will change any of that.

Sofia just might be proven wrong.

(A companion novel to SOLVING FOR EX (February 2014,) FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS is a standalone Upper YA/Lower NA contemporary romance.)"

Why am I eagerly awaiting First World Problems? Well, LeighAnn Kopans is one of my beloved authors and this one is a NA companion novel for one of my fave contemporaries of the year, Solving For Ex! I cannot wait to read how dear Sophia gets thrown completely out of her comfort zone!

What are you all (im)patiently awaiting this week?

First Chapter, First Paragraph #7: First World Problems by LeighAnn Kopans!!

First Chapter, First Paragraph is one of the two memes that I will be alternating on Thursdays in place of my Ink & Batter posts during the summer, when I won't be baking due to the heat!

I discovered this meme via the ladies of My Shelf Confessions, and it is hosted on Tuesdays by Bibliophile by the Sea. But since I already have my blog tours posts and Tell Me Tuesdays, I thought that it'd work best on Thursdays for me!

The idea of this meme/feature is quite self-explanatory from its name, we share the first paragraph of the first chapter of our current read! Quite a good teaser for others to read and see if they'd be intrigued!

This week I'm sharing a bit of an ARC I got last week, that is on my list of ARC August! Thank you LeighAnn for it to sending me! I cannot wait to see what's coming for Sophie in this one!

First World Problems by Leigh Ann Kopans

"In my eighteen years on this planet, I'd learned I could distract a lot of people with pretty words, expensive gifts, and a sweet smile.

I'd also learned that those things rarely worked on my father, which meant that at this exact moment, I was in a shit ton of trouble"

What do you think? Would you want to know more?
What are you reading right now?

Mark This Book Monday: One by Leigh Ann Kopans!

Well, it seems that I'm getting some of my motivation back, and now I have the third Mark This Book Monday of the day ready!

I don't even remember how I stumbled upon this book on Goodreads, I'm just glad I did!

One by Leigh Ann Kopans

One is the kinda book that sounds interesting enough to grab and once you start reading it just proves to you that it was quite the right choice!

There might be some minor spoilers in the review, and I really hope I can keep them to a minimum.

I actually had a difficult time trying to get One on my Kindle since I was looking for the book by typing the author name wrong! I kept typing Leigh Ann Kopans instead of LeighAnn Kopans, and I almost gave up trying to find it, just glad I didn't!

The premise of the book is interesting and unique enough: What if humans can have superpowers but it doesn't work exactly as we've always seen it on comics and movies? What if to fly you need a combination of more than one ability? And what if not everyone get that but are left with just one?

In this world you can either be a Super (someone with two or more powers) a Normal (someone without any superpower) or you can be a One (the pariah to both sides, not special enough for the Supers, too different for the Normals).

Merrin is a One, her measly power is making herself light enough to sort of float/hover and she had been at the Supers High School hoping to develop another power that would allow her to fly. When that doesn't happen, her parents decide to tranfer her to a regular high school for Normals where she won't have to deal with as much rejection.

All Merrin has ever wanted is fix herself and as an intellectual portent she is aiming to join the Hub and work on something that will make her more than just a One. Meeting Elias on her new high school and feeling like her world is turning upside down was not part of her plan, and even less was discovering what she and Elias can do together, that two Ones can complete each other.

Not only the premise of this book is unique but also Merrin is not your usual love-swept girl. Romance is a key factor in the book, and a big driving force for everything that happens, but it doesn't make Merrin a doe-eyed damsel in distress, all the contrary, it makes her fierce and she is the one doing the rescuing!

The ending has closure to a point, but leaves enough open doors to really await the second book eagerly, thankfully without a cliffhanger!

Very well deserved 4 stars to this one!
