Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted at Breaking The Spine that spotlights those can't-wait-to-get-my-hands-on-them books that we are eagerly awaiting!
What book am I super excited and cannot-wait-till-I-can-get-my-hands-on this week?? Mortal Gods by Kendare Blake!!!
Goodreads Summary:
"Ares, God of War, is leading the other dying gods into battle. Which is just fine with Athena. She's ready to wage a war of her own, and she's never liked him anyway. If Athena is lucky, the winning gods will have their immortality restored. If not, at least she'll have killed the bloody lot of them, and she and Hermes can die in peace.
Cassandra Weaver is a weapon of fate. The girl who kills gods. But all she wants is for the god she loved and lost to return to life. If she can't have that, then the other gods will burn, starting with his murderer, Aphrodite.
The alliance between Cassandra and Athena is fragile. Cassandra suspects Athena lacks the will to truly kill her own family. And Athena fears that Cassandra's hate will get them ALL killed.
The war takes them across the globe, searching for lost gods, old enemies, and Achilles, the greatest warrior the world has ever seen. As the struggle escalates, Athena and Cassandra must find a way to work together. Because if they can't, fates far worse than death await."
Why am I eagerly awaiting Mortal Gods? I'm a huuuuge fan of mythology and Greek mythology is the one I've always been more knowledgeable on and I love Kendare Blake's writing and I adored the first book in the series. And to top it all, I might be able to attend the release celebration for this one on Books of Wonder!!
What are you all (im)patiently awaiting this week?
I still haven't read Antigoddess! I keep forgetting all about it so thank you for the reminder! I LOVE Greek mythology as well :)
ReplyDeleteI hope the second book is as good as the first! Fingers crossed you get to attend the release celebration!
Great pick :D

DeleteAnd yes Samantha, you really neeeeeed to read Antigoddess!! Prepare yourself for the emotional cruelty!
I still need to read the first book Pili! I'm so far behind on so many books/series. I need someone to pay me to read books and blog about them full time. Wouldn't that be great? Well, in theory it would, but then the blog would really become a job and I imagine the fun part would go away. Right now though, getting paid to read all the books I want sounds awesome:)
ReplyDeleteBeing paid for reading also sounds like heaven to me, so I know what you mean!! ;)
DeleteI really have to recommend Antigoddess, Jenny, I simply adored it!
