Hey guys! Welcome to my recap of the second week of ARC August!
This week I haven't done as well as I would have wanted, but being the mood reader than I am, I got through two re-reads and read a newly released book and started another... and so I only finished two ARCs, one physical : The Copper Gauntlet, the review will be up tomorrow and an eARC: The Bollywood Bride, review HERE.
I gave up on Legacy of Kings so I've DNFed that one, and will write a short DNF review after its release. Now I've started two ARCs and I hope to finish them early next week: A Curious Tale of the In-Between by Lauren DeStefano and Into The Fire by Manda Scott!
Into The Fire is one of my backlogged ARCs and I cannot believe I had forgotten about it because it's an adult historical fiction mixed with actual events novels by an author I love and I'm completely immersed in the book now!
Let's hope my mood reading is better and I can get through more ARCs since I'll be spending a few days at the cottage!
How did you guys do this week?
Best of luck reading more ARCs Pili. <3 Hugs. No rush in reading ARCs :) But yaay for reading The Copper Gauntlet :D I hope you loved it. <3 Fingers crossed. Happy reading sweet girl :D Hope you have had an awesome weekend. <3
ReplyDeleteI didn't love love it but I quite liked it! Thank you sweetie!!
DeleteHey, 2 ARCs is better than none ;) Keep up the good work! :)
ReplyDeleteGotta look at the positives, right? Thanks Lili!
DeleteAww sorry about Legacy of Kings. I've heard not so good things about it so far.... I wish you luck on the rest of your challenge!
ReplyDeleteRachel @ A Perfection Called Books
Thank you Rachel! I so rarely DNF books, it bums me out so much!
DeleteI really should choose a week or two just to deal with my many poor forgotten arcs, but there are always shinier toys to play with! I should just clone myself somehow one of these days. :)
ReplyDeleteReading under stress is the worst, so I guess it's a good thing we've both been taking it easy.
I'm trying to clear some old ARCs and stay a bit on top of the ones I got at BEA! But being the mood reader that I am... I need to ignore them at times, or I won't read!
DeleteHope you had a great vacay, Maja!
I bumped Legacy of Kings from my list Pili, I think I would struggle with it as you did. I just don't do well with so many POVs, I like to stick with one or two characters at most. I hope your time at the cottage is filled with lots of books that absolutely blow you away!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jenny! Loads of reading and puppy cuddles, really looking forward to this week's long weekend (for me!)
DeleteAnd yes, too many POVs and not handled well enough, IMO...
You are still doing very well in my eyes! AND I AM SOOOOOOOOO JEALOUS OF YOUR CURIOUS TALE! I almost requested it from the publisher when it became apparent that it wasn't going up on Edelweiss. I probably should have. I thought for sure it would be on EW because both of her Internment Chronicals ARCs were. Keep up the good work. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda! Btw, I can send A Curious Tale to you once I'm done if you want it?
Delete*gasp* You didn't like Legacy of Kings? I am so sorry to hear that, it's one of my most anticipated title this month. I hope I'll like it more than you did! Good luck with conquering your TBR pile for the rest of August!
ReplyDeleteAentee of The Social Potato
I do hope you'll love it Aentee! Multiple POVs don't always work for me, so it might have been that!
DeleteThank you!
You were still able to read a better deal than I did! I only read like two books last week. I must amend that soon because my backlog keeps getting longer and longer >_> Into the Fire sounds really interesting, though!
ReplyDeleteFaye at The Social Potato
Into The FIre was a really cool book! ;)
DeleteToo bad about Legacy of Kings! You know how I felt about it, and I understand the DNF :D I have not heard of the two ARCs you listed! I hope they will be awesome and non-DNFs! :)
ReplyDeleteAlyssa @ The Eater of Books!
Thank you Alyssa! I just didn't have the motivation to continue...
DeleteSorry to hear you didn't enjoy Legacy of Kings, I loved it! Hope you're enjoying the ones you're reading now. Wasn't sure if you'd thought about joining my September Sequels Challenge this year, but since you had participated in the past, thought I'd send you a reminder! September is for Sequels Challenge
ReplyDeleteI'm totally signing up again, Lisa! Thank you for reminding me!
