Showcase Sunday is a weekly feature hosted by Vicky of Books, Biscuits, and Tea where all book lovers can share with others what bookish goodness we got this week, be it purchased (physical or eBook), won, gifted or for review!
This week I haven't got many books, I only bought two books that were on sale and I got a pair of books for review from NetGalley: Thank you, Flux Books!
Purchased (via Kindle app)
How To Save a Life by Sara Zarr
Steel Lily by Megan Curd
For Review (via NetGalley)
The Truth Against The World by Sarah Jamila Stevenson
Paranoia by J.R. Johansson
What all did you guys get this week?
Hi
ReplyDeleteHow To Save A Life is currently on my To Read list, but it's been a case of not getting round to it yet.
Enjoy your reads.
Please feel free to check out my haul at http://thewanderingbookworm.wordpress.com/2014/01/04/book-haul-christmas-2013-haul-part-two/
Thank you for visiting! I got How To Save a Life because I read a very good review from another blogger and I'm hoping I'll get to read it sometime soon!
DeleteI think I got How to Save a Life in last year's Kindle January sale! Still haven't read it which is why I'm trying not to buy random ebooks this year...
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to get myself to read more stand alones and contemporaries, so that's why I got this one!
DeleteThanks for sharing these new-to-me books. They all look great and I hope you enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday post: http://www.bookclublibrarian.com/2014/01/sundays-weekly-book-recap-48.html
Thank you for visiting my blog Catherine!
DeleteWow, I love the cover for Paranoia! I didn't realise it had one already. I wasn't the biggest fan of the first book, but I look forward to seeing what you think. And I still need to read How To Save a Life one day! I've heard nothing but good things about it. Enjoy! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Sam! I still need to read Insomnia too, but I'm hoping I'll manage to enjoy the two books! And hopefully I'll read How To Save a Life soon-ish, I'm hoping to read more stand alones this year!
DeleteI'm just reading Roomies by Sarah Zarr and its amazing so far. So I think I would be very interested to see what How to Save a Life is like.If you enjoy it, I would definitely recommend Roomies. :) Paranoia I've heard of but I haven't had a chance of reading it yet. But the cover is awesome, different from what I've seen before. Hope you enjoy them all and Happy 2014. :)
ReplyDeleteI got an invitation for Roomies on NetGalley but by the time I signed it, it had reached the limit of downloads.
DeleteHappy New Year and thank you for visiting Emma!
Oh, I love the look of Steel Lily!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cora! I'm hoping it'll be good!
DeleteThanks for visiting!
I was considering getting How to Save a Life, but it sounds like one of those books that'll have me in tears so I'm not sure. I'll definitely be looking forward to seeing what you think of it.
ReplyDeleteSteel Lily & Paranoia both look amazing!
Great haul, Pili! Happy reading :)
Thank you Samantha! I think sometimes you just need a good cry and I'm hoping the story will be worth it!
DeleteI've not requested paranoia yet though I enjoyed Insomnia...I'm excited to hear your thoughts on it! Great haul Pili :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kristen! I only requested them cause they release in June, so I'm hoping to have time to read them!
DeleteI got Steel lily just recently and read the first 15% or so. It seems to be very well written. I also have a Sara Zarr book bought months ago, so I should probablyget around to it already.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading, Pili! Enjoy!
Thank you, Maja! I hope it won't get me too long to get to them, but Jan has so many eagerly awaited books for me...
DeleteI also got Paranoia! But it's the only book I got this week so I didn't bother writing up a post, lol.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I cant wait to read it!
I still need to read the previous book, so it'll be a while but I can't wait to hear what you think!
DeleteInsomnia was great (and I think I reviewed it this past summer)! I really loved the concept and I just thought it was creepy and fantastic! I'm definitely intrigued by the sequel, so I'm excited to start it :)
DeleteI'll check for your review! It'll be cool having both books to read back to back!
DeleteI have not read any of these, but they look awesome :D Hope you'll enjoy everything sweetie. <3 Happy reading :)
